Common Questions

Contact & Consultation — FAQ

How do I request a free HVAC estimate from Design Heating?

Call or text (218) 525-5914, email [email protected], or submit the contact form on this page. We respond to most inquiries within one business day and schedule a free in-home consultation to measure your home, review your existing system, and discuss options.

What areas does Design Heating serve?

We design and install HVAC systems throughout Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor, Cloquet, Pike Lake, Esko, Carlton, Two Harbors, MN, and Superior, WI. We also serve the broader Northland and North Shore on a project basis. Our office is located in Duluth, MN.

What does a free estimate include?

Our free in-home estimate includes a walk-through of your existing system, a tape-measure heat-loss assessment (followed by a full ACCA Manual J calculation for any quoted project), discussion of equipment options and fuel types, and a written fixed-price quote. There is no charge, no obligation, and no high-pressure sales.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Design Heating, LLC is a Minnesota-licensed mechanical contractor (License #MB715020), fully insured, and Wisconsin-bonded for our Superior-area work. Owner Kevin Kaski is a Certified Geothermal Designer (CGD) and an IGSHPA Accredited Trainer and Installer.

How quickly can you respond to an emergency no-heat call?

During winter months we make our best effort to respond to no-heat calls within 24 hours for existing customers. For new customers, we recommend calling our office first and we'll do everything we can to help or refer you to a trusted partner. We are not a 24/7 emergency-only service.

What information should I have ready when I call?

It helps to know the brand and approximate age of your existing equipment, the type of heat (forced air, hot water, electric), your home's approximate square footage, and any specific issues you're experiencing. Photos of the equipment label and mechanical room are also helpful but not required.
